My monologue

January 20.

Recently I have been scanning my old books, personal documents, etc. using a Canon personal scanner, P-150. The format is PDF. One thing I always wanted to do was to scan a haiku appreciation book  (風はどこから)written by my good friend, Professor Shimizu. The text is in Japanese. Here is another link to the English translation of the above work.  I also received his permission to upload his unpublished works:   Sannobi- Monogatari (三濃尾物語)and Tsuki no Sanpo Michi (月の散歩道)

The year 2010 was a good year for me.  I have found out that even though I am at the last stage of my life, my brain stayed alert or even improved by my sheer effort.  This is the year I started to write my life history and kept on learning French every day.  I cannot speak the language, but I now understand most of written sentences. This is also was the year I traveled to Japan.

This year I turned 70.  With age, everything is slowing down: my memory is going downhill  fast.  Naturally I am afraid of what comes next.  For this reason, I am doing this website.  I also play a word game, jigsaw puzzles every day on this computer.  If I improve my scores, I am happy.  Here are two of my favorite sites.  The important thing is to play the games everyday.
